A Quick Stop in Montpellier: Discovering the Charm in Just Few Hours
After an exciting 8-hour drive through beautiful German landscapes and enchanting Swiss roads, we finally reached the captivating France. And our first pit stop turned out to be a real treasure! This lively city in the heart of southern France that lured us in with its irresistible charm, Montpellier!
From Wheels to Food: Enjoying Montpellier’s Yummy Delicacies
Our hungry stomachs guided us straight to a local restaurant. Can you believe how amazing it felt to feast on mouthwatering Mediterranean food after being on the road for 8 hours? Every bite was like a little taste of heaven. After a satisfying meal, we headed to our comfy Hotel du Parc for a well-deserved break, recharging our energy for the exciting adventures ahead.
Hotel du Parc: A Hidden Gem in Montpellier
After scouring the internet for hotel options, we chose to stay at the boutique Hotel du Parc. However, the pictures didn’t do it justice. This charming boutique hotel exceeded our expectations; its beauty is truly captivating! As a lover of intimate and romantically cozy settings, I was instantly drawn to this establishment.
The authentic French vintage decor immerses you in the true essence of France! The service was exceptionally polite and impeccable. I wholeheartedly recommend this quaint hotel to anyone planning a short visit to Montpellier or even just for a few hours like us .
It’s worth noting that we opted for a suite, which is the largest room complete with balconies. The size was suitable for the three of us. While staying there, I had the chance to glimpse at the other rooms, most of which were compact and reminiscent of single rooms, not quite fitting for a family. However, I must emphasize that the suite itself was breathtaking!
Lights at Night, Delights in the Morning: The Magic of Montpellier
Even though we were a bit tired, the twinkling lights of Montpellier’s downtown were too enticing to resist. Among the glowing stars and cobblestone streets, we explored the city’s nighttime beauty in about 2 hours.
And when morning came, we set off on a short whirlwind tour, taking in some of the landmarks and historical wonders Montpellier had to offer. The city’s daytime beauty was just captivating, revealing its hidden gems under the warm sunlight. The mix of history and Mediterranean vibes had us enchanted!
The Iconic L’arbre Blanc Building in Montpellier
Our wandering feet led us to something truly unique – the iconic L’arbre Blanc building. With its quirky design that seemed to break all the rules of architecture, it was truly a sight to see. It left us both intrigued and amazed, showing the city’s love for the unconventional.
The Famous Esplanade de l’Europe
Esplanade de l’Europe – another stunning landmark we discovered in Montpellier. A grand plaza nestled within the heart of Montpellier stands as a testament to the city’s rich history and vibrant culture. Its sprawling expanse, bordered by ornate buildings and lush greenery, offers a captivating blend of architectural marvels and natural beauty.
Esplanade de l’Europe is more than just a plaza; it’s a canvas where history, art, and community seamlessly blend. A symbol of Montpellier’s past and its future aspirations, this large plaza invites all who visit to immerse themselves in its stories, its energy, and its beauty.
My Ensemble in Montpellier
As depicted in the images, I chose a simple black t-shirt paired with loose-fitting blue jeans. My priority was maximum comfort, considering the extensive journey from Germany to Spain.
To elevate the overall comfortable and basic appearance, I added heeled golden sandals that, surprisingly, remain comfortable despite the heels. However, I ensured preparedness by carrying a pair of flats in my handbag,? anticipating the possibility of fatigue from the long hours of travel.
A Place We’ll Cherish: Montpellier’s Legacy
With only a brief window available for a swift sightseeing escapade before resuming our journey towards the French Riviera, we bid a regretful farewell to Montpellier. The fleeting yet exquisite memories woven during those few hours linger in my mind. ?
Having traversed various cities within this remarkable nation, I can assert without hesitation that Montpellier shines uniquely. The fusion of its storied history and vibrant Mediterranean essence has indelibly imprinted a distinct place within our hearts.
